21 Day Fast

SGCC is excited to begin a season of prayer and fasting!  For 21 Days we will be fasting as a church family.  While this is a church-wide fast, please seek God on what He desires for you to sacrifice.  Whether you need to remove some things from your life or need to incorporate something new, this is a great time to get started!

When: Begins at 12:01AM Monday, January 8th and ends at 12:01AM on Monday, January 29th

What: 21 Days of Fasting. You may choose to sacrifice/deny yourself of whatever the Lord tells you.  For those taking medication and/or have health challenges, a food sacrifice is not required. Please consult your physician before entering this fast.

Why: The purpose of this fast is to offer God a sacrifice out of obedience and relationship with Him, while focusing on the power and presence of God in our lives.

No matter your sacrifice, please remember the words of Isaiah:

“6 Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke?
7 Is it not to share your food with the hungry and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter— when you see the naked, to clothe them, and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?
8 Then your light will break forth like the dawn, and your healing will quickly appear;
then your righteousness[a] will go before you, and the glory of the Lord will be your rear guard.
9 Then you will call, and the Lord will answer; you will cry for help, and he will say: Here am I..."
